Monthly Wrap-Up: March 2018

It’s the end of March already and it is time for another wrap-up!

Over the last month, I have worked so much overtime at my day job. Unexpectedly. Which truly was upsetting to me at first because I had this entire planned schedule that included time slots for writing, reading, blogging, going to the gym - all the things I enjoy doing - because I was supposed to be back to my regular work schedule. That didn’t happen. But I am proud of myself for still being able to post blogs twice a week, finish reading a couple of books, and start rereading “The Four Agreements” and cracking open “The Devil in the White City” which I will be posting about in my What I’m Reading blogs once I am through with them. Also, my job allows me to exchange overtime worked for time off, which I now have loads of! So, believe me, I will be using that time. Because I have to. Because I lose it if I don’t.

As I mentioned in a previous post which you can read right HERE, this semester is the first time since I got my Associates Degree in 2012 that I have enrolled in any classes and one of them was a short-term speech class which mostly took place in March with one meeting in February. Taking this type of class was a new experience for me given how accelerated it was and I went into it quite nervous. Overall, I was an enjoyable class with some wonderful peers but I am glad it’s over because that means I get back the time spent in class and on homework. Little victories.

In terms of movies, I finally crossed off a couple that had been on my “To Watch” list for months but for one reason or another (usually work) I hadn’t gotten a chance to watch them in theaters. Two of those being Coco and Justice League.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know as I mentioned in my story, I was extremely disappointed with Justice League and I had gone into watching it with my friend Phillip hoping that I would be counted among those that actually enjoyed it. That was not the case. I decided not to do a What I’m Watching post about Justice League because, well, there are enough posts about what’s wrong with the movie available for you to read on the internet already. To put it simply, the movie had tremendous potential and that’s the most heartbreaking thing. Hopefully, DC has learned from this and will make better decisions in the future. If the recent news of a “shakeup” at the studio is any indication, maybe they already have. Coco was another experience altogether and I will be doing a What I’m Watching post on it shortly after rewatching it.

With all that being said, April is my birthday month and I have some new ideas I am excited to share with all of you. Until then,  if you want to follow me on social media, click HERE to follow me on Instagram and click HERE to follow me on Twitter. Thank you all for your continued support!
